What is art? What do we really mean by saying art?
There are so many definitions about art and I think that there is a reason for it. We all have a different opinion about this matter, an opinion that only 'we' can completely understand. And that really happens because our perspectives and our experiences are not the same. If you "google" 'what is art' or just 'art' you will find quite a few results and this confirms the complexity of ART. I will try to make a 'mix' of these definitions and see what will come up.
Art is an application or expression of imagination and creativity, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture,
producing works to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.
Art is works produced by human creative skill and imagi it's a creative activity resulting in the production of drawings or sculptures and various branches such as painting, music, literature, and dance.
It also includes subjects of study primarily concerned with human creativity and social life, such as languages, literature, and history (as contrasted with scientific or technical subjects).
Well these where some of the definitions I found and something common in pretty much every one of them is creativity and imagination.
So art is the product of our imagination. The expression of an emotion, an idea or a world view.
